Covering the English, Math, Science and Reading sections, this course provides the student with practice tests, subject material instruction, time-management and more test-taking strategies. Boulder Valley High School Juniors take the ACT in the spring. Seniors who would like to improve their test score are advised to re-take the test in the fall. An official prep book published by the makers of the ACT is included in the tuition fee. Homework may be assigned.
Covering verbal and math skills, this course provides the student with practice tests, instruction based on test questions and test-taking strategies. The verbal review covers how to answer analogies and sentence completion questions quickly and effectively. Methods for improving reading speed and techniques for locating pertinent information in reading passages will be covered, and how to write an effective essay. Math concepts and skills will be reviewed, and much more.

For students in grades 3-12, trained and caring volunteer tutors offer free homework help in most subjects. Most of our tutors have worked here for 5-10 years. Many parents report that their children’s grades and self-esteem improved after receiving help at the Homework Center. Some tutors are bilingual/Spanish. Hours: Monday-Thursday, 3:00-6:30. High School Math Tutor
I offer individual and small group high school math tutoring in person and on-line. I taught math in BVSD for 17 years, my last 8 years at Fairview High School. I am familiar with district curriculum and teachers. I have tutored the past 4 years and can provide references.
